Nuanua O Le Alofa is the national disability advocacy organization for Samoa. Established in 2001, Nuanua O Le Alofa is the only disabled persons organization which is governed and lead by persons with disabilities in Samoa. As of August 2020, Nuanua O Le Alofa has over 800 members with disabilities from across Upolu, Savaii, Manono and Apolima. The COVID-19 Pandemic has taken its toll on persons with disabilities throughout Samoa. With a decrease in remittances from overseas families, and much of the hospitality and tourism industry scaling back their services due to international border closures, the socio-economic impacts for the Pandemic for persons with disabilities has been most noticeable.
